Saree Size & Drape Guide
Standard Saree Measurements Most sarees at House of Paramya are 5.5 metres in length with a 80cm blouse piece included — suitable for all standard draping styles across India.
Which saree length do I need?
- 5.5 metres — suitable for most women, all draping styles
- 6 metres — ideal for tall women (5'6" and above) or voluminous pleating styles
- 6.5 metres — required for styles like Nauvari or Coorgi drape
Blouse piece Every saree includes approximately 80cm of matching blouse fabric — enough for a standard blouse. For heavily embellished or designer blouses, we recommend sourcing additional fabric.
How to measure yourself for a saree blouse
- Bust: measure around the fullest part of your chest
- Waist: measure around your natural waistline
- Hip: measure around the fullest part of your hips
- Standard blouse sizes range from 32 to 42 inches
Popular draping styles
- Nivi drape — the most common style across India, elegant and versatile
- Bengali drape — no pleats, wrapped around twice with the pallu over the left shoulder
- Gujarati drape — pallu brought to the front over the right shoulder
- Maharashtrian drape — trouser-like style, ideal for active wear
- Coorgi drape — pallu pinned at the back, distinctive and regal
